Teeth Whitening FAQs
Find answers to the most common questions about teeth whitening London treatments.
Yes, professional teeth whitening supervised by a dentist is considered very safe. We use UK-approved, professional-grade whitening gels that are designed to whiten teeth while minimising any risk to enamel. Our dentists assess your suitability before treatment to help optimise your results.
Results vary depending on your starting shade and the natural colour of your teeth. Many patients achieve a smile that is up to 8 shades whiter (individual results vary). We aim for a natural but noticeably brighter result that complements your appearance.
With proper care, results can last up to 2 years. This depends on your lifestyle – smokers and heavy tea/coffee drinkers may see staining return sooner. We provide aftercare advice and top-up options to maintain your results.
Mild sensitivity is common and usually temporary. We use professional-grade gel with desensitising ingredients and always assess your suitability first. If you experience sensitivity, it typically subsides within a few days of completing treatment.
The full home whitening treatment typically takes 10-14 days, wearing the trays for 1-2 hours daily. You'll see initial results within the first few days, with optimal results achieved by the end of the treatment period.
Our standard treatment is a home whitening system. All assessments, fittings, and follow-ups take place in our clinic. The actual whitening is done at home using custom-made trays and professional gel prescribed by our dentists.
Most adults can have teeth whitening, but it's not suitable for everyone. We don't recommend whitening for pregnant or breastfeeding women, people under 18, or those with certain dental conditions. Our dentists will assess your suitability during your consultation.
Teeth whitening only works on natural teeth. Crowns, veneers, and fillings will not change colour. If you have visible restorations, we can discuss options during your consultation to achieve a uniform smile.
Our complete package includes: initial consultation and assessment, custom-fitted whitening trays, professional-grade whitening gel (enough for full treatment), detailed instructions, and a follow-up appointment to review your results.
